42 Powerful Scriptures to Pray for Healing

Have you tried using scriptures to pray for healing in your life or someone else’s life?

Waiting on God is never easy.  Isaiah 53:5 tells us that we are healed by Christ’s sacrifice for us; however, there are times when we have to wait to see God’s healing manifested in our lives.

During these times of waiting, we can find peace and power by using Scripture to guide our prayers.  The Bible offers a great deal of encouragement about God’s desire to heal his children and restore our bodies, mind, and lives.

God is a good Father, and he wants to give us good gifts.  His healing is one of his good gifts.  Let’s talk about the importance of pressing into his Word as we wait for his healing to manifest itself in our lives.

Why Use Scripture to Pray for Healing

Our emotions can feel consuming when we are desperate to see God’s healing hand in our lives or the lives of our loved ones.  Using Scripture to guide our prayers for healing helps us stand on God’s promises instead of standing on our feelings.

By using scripture to guide our prayers, we wield the sword of the Spirit as the enemy attacks us with fearful and discouraging thoughts.  Instead of letting our faltering emotions guide our prayers, standing on God’s Word aligns our hearts with God’s heart.

Even when we don’t see God’s healing manifested in our lives, praying God’s Word helps us overcome the enemy’s attacks against our minds.  God’s Word begins healing our worried minds before we see his healing touch on our bodies.

Scriptures to Pray for Healing

The Bible shows us that God wants to heal his children.  He heals our minds by renewing them with his Word.  He heals our bodies through miraculous interventions as well as modern medicine.  He heals our hearts by revealing himself to us.

Tap Into the Healing Power of Scripture

God is waiting to make himself known to us.  He is always waiting to reveal himself through the Bible.  He also wants to reveal his character as our healer by bringing restoration to our lives.

As you wait to see God’s healing come to fruition, thank him that he has already appropriated his healing.  Instead of repeatedly approaching him as if you never asked for his healing touch, make it a habit to talk to him as you would talk to a good Father.

Begin by thanking him that he has heard your past prayers for healing.  Then, thank him for the promises listed above.  Tell him you are excited to see his healing come to fruition and bring him glory.

Meanwhile, refuse to succumb to fearful, worried, and doubtful thoughts.  The enemy wants to use these thoughts to lead you away from God.  Instead of meditating on these negative thoughts, meditate on God’s Word.

You will overcome the enemy and develop a deeper trust in God while you wait to experience his healing power.
