4 Powerful Thanksgiving Prayers for Healing

Looking to God for healing when we are sick and suffering comes naturally for most of us. However, it is our thanksgiving prayers for healing that get God’s attention.

We pray, cry, beg, plead, and make promises we never would have if our diagnoses were different.

Some of us endure physical pain for years when our prayers for healing aren’t answered instantly. Then walk around carrying the agony of the pain as if it is a badge of honor. We never realize God is waiting for our thanksgiving prayers for healing.

Sadly, many others go into depression when healing doesn’t come soon enough. They stop believing in the power of prayer. Even giving up on their desire to live because they don’t believe healing will ever come.

However, it is God’s desire for us to proper and be in good health (3 John 1:2).

Fortunately, Paul provides us with clear instruction on how we can receive the healing we desperately desire.

The Apostle tells us in Philippians 4:6, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (NLT).

Accordingly, to receive the healing we’re praying for, we must believe we will receive it. In addition, to show that we believe, we give God thanks in advance of being healed.

How Do You Thank God for Healing?

We thank God by giving Him praise and thanksgiving.

“Yet you are the holy God, ruling from your throne and praised by Israel” (Psalm 22:3 CEV).

The key is not to wait for the healing before we give thanks. We thank Him for healing us in advance.

We must also have faith in order to receive the healing because without faith it is impossible to please Him.

Imagine Jesus walking around His hometown with a heart full of compassion for His people; wanting to do miracles, but not being able to because of their lack of faith (Matthew 13:58 NIV).

We show our faith by thanking Him and praising Him for the healing, although we haven’t seen or felt any physical proof of being healed.

Faith is the substance of things we’re hoping for, and the evidence of things not seen. We must have faith to receive the healing we’re petitioning God for.

Thanksgiving Prayers for Healing the Sick

One of the things Jesus embraced when He began his ministry was healing. He preached the gospel of the kingdom, and He healed all who were sick.

Many places He traveled to, He healed all the sick. Healing was and is a major part of the ministry of Christ. It is a part of kingdom living.

Not only did Jesus heal, but He also anointed His disciples with the power to heal and sent them forth to do the same.

Thank You, Lord, that You suffered and died for us so that we might be healed. Thank You for healing me and giving me the blessing of healing which You promised in Your word and provide for those who believe. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Thanksgiving Prayer for Healing the Body

The Bible has many stories of Jesus healing the body. He healed the woman with the issue of blood. He healed Peter’s mother-in-law. He healed the blind. He healed the lepers.

Jesus healed so many people, the Bible doesn’t even tell of every account of Him healing.

It is ironic; however, that the Bible never shows Him healing the same way. He told the man at the pool of Bethesda to go wash the mud from his eyes.

He told the man that was let down from the roof to take up his bed and walk. The man with the issue of blood only had to touch the hem of His garment.

We may not know what God desires from us to receive the healing we desire, but we do know He is able to heal us. And that is what we must hold on to.

Father, we thank you for healing and restoring my body. You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. Thank you for empowering me to do what I need to do so that You can do what You are able to do. In Jesus’ name, I thank You. Amen.

Thanksgiving Prayer for Healing the Broken Hearted

The Bible refers to the Holy Spirit as The Comforter. Whenever we are hurting, He comforts us.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (NIV).

We are reminded in Psalm 51:17, the sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God (NLT).

Father, thank You for comforting us when our hearts are broken. Thank You for wiping the tears from our eyes. Thank You for being close to us when we are down and lowly. Thank you for saving us when our hearts are regretful for our wrongdoing. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Isn’t it wonderful to know when we are sick and suffering, our Heavenly Father is right there with us? He enthrones our praises. Remember to enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.
