It is time to pray for our teachers and educators!
Teachers need our help — they need divine guidance! While many public schools don’t allow prayer in their classrooms, we have the tools to provide essential provisions – our prayers.
While our words may mean little, God can give them what they need. Teachers require wisdom, patience, and guidance to not only get through the day but teach our kids the right message.
How Can We Pray for Teachers?
Did you know there are more than 3 million teachers in the USA? And, half of those stats include teachers in private schools.
We are trusting these hard-working personnel to take care of our sons and daughters. Let’s armor them with the power of prayer!
We can always have hope when the Lord is guiding us. Don’t be anxious about anything!
If you homeschool, many homeschool students still have teachers in co-op classes, community college classes, and live instruction online. Let’s include them in our prayer along with homeschool moms and dads who may be struggling with how to effectively teach their kids.
While there’s no set way to pray for teachers, let’s consider what God tells us in the Bible.
In 1 John 5:14, God indicates that we can have confidence if we ask anything according to His will, he will hear us. We can be assured that our prayers are important!
In order to pray, however, we need a peaceful place with quiet surroundings. It’s easy to get distracted when it’s busy in your environment where you are communing with God. So, find a quiet location, shut the door, and get ready.
However, if you find yourself with another mom or father, consider praying together. The Bible promises that where 2 are gathered together, He is in the midst of them.
Here are some quick tips on things to pray for regarding teachers and faculty including the school board:
- Pray for fresh, new day ahead

Prayers for Teachers
Our school teachers need prayer more than ever. Since the Bible and prayer were taken away in the government schools, we see more tragedies and educational evils.
While some private schools are Christian-based, they can certainly use guidance and wisdom throughout the day as well.
In addition, Homeschools across the nation need guidance and direction for this next generation.
Dear Heavenly Father, We bring our teachers across this blessed land to your throne. We are thankful for our instructors and ask your followers to flood our schools with godly principles. While we see a decline in education and an uptick in indoctrination, we ask for mercies and protection with our kids. Keep them innocent and shelter them from evil. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

While we are responsible for training our children to serve the Lord, they are not always with us.
Let’s pray that those we entrust to instruct our children will also train them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Dear Heavenly Father, Please guide our teachers to instruct our children to make the right choices and educate them with material that is truthful and honest. The season of Covid has been extremely difficult in every facet of our lives. Now more than ever, educators covet our prayers.
With angry parents, relentless faculty meetings, and rules and regulations that keep changing, it can feel quite stressful.
However, it’s time to take it to the Lord in prayer for peaceful hours ahead.
Dear Lord, we praise your name for all of our blessings and everyday life we take for granted. Help our teachers to be more patient, kind, and good examples during the pandemic. Keep our kids and school staff healthy and strong. Help them to make wise decisions and choices that make sense for everyone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Daily Prayer for Teachers
We are to love God with all of our heart, right? It’s the greatest commandment. So if we love God, we will trust in Him to guide us in the right direction.
Teachers, just like us, need daily guidance. If they are walking in a straight path, so will our children who follow them.
Lord, we are grateful for your presence whenever we call upon you. We ask that our mentors in our schools seek You, love You, and abide in Your guidance. We ask for daily mercy and grace with our teachers and help our students learn Your truth in all classes and in all situations. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer for Teachers to Seek God First
On a perfect planet, all human beings would obey God. However, we are limited in this world but know we can ask Him for anything. Let’s pray that our teachers seek God first, as with God, all things are possible.
Dear God, we are so thankful that you are our loving Father. We know not all teachers are looking for your guidance, but we pray that each and every instructor learns about you. We pray they are educated in scripture and seek YOU first, instead of their own Will. Thank you Lord, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 NIV

With little kids running around full of energy, or teenagers struggling with difficult subjects, our teachers can run out of patience quickly. Let’s ask God to help them keep things calm and collected.
Dear Amazing Abba, your presence in our schools is so desperately needed. There are so many difficult encounters that our instructors face. Instead of giving into stress and impatience, help them see the underlying problems instead of the superficial ones out in the open. Give them patience and peace as they control their classroom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

God has a vision for all of our mentors and moms who instruct the next generation every day. Let’s continue to ask for forgiveness when we fail but to always seek His will in our educational system and processes.
If God is the monitor for our hallways, He’ll be the guiding light for our walkways.
Be sure to also pray for our kids and college students!
