Happy Saturday with a cup of coffee

Powerful and Uplifting Saturday Prayers (with Images)

Saturday prayers are the best way to get your weekend off to a great start!

It’s finally the weekend! I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite parts of the weekend is waking up on a Saturday morning and lingering in God’s presence.

I love waking up to the smell of coffee before anyone else gets up, and savoring extra time to read God’s Word and pray before I start the day.

And since I have more time on Saturdays to spend with God, I always try and spend more intentional time in prayer to pray over myself, my friends, and my loved ones.

But what should you pray for on a Saturday morning? What is the best way to pray over the weekend and your friends and family?

If you are looking to spend more time in prayer on Saturdays, here are some uplifting Saturday prayers to get your weekend started.

What Should I Pray For on Saturday

God tells us in the Bible to pray without ceasing and to give thanks in all circumstances.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV

As you start your day, spend time thanking God for all that he has done before you start praying. When we start prayer by praising God, it allows us to pray with more faith and power since we are already reminded of all that God is doing in our lives.

After you spend time in praise, pray for anything that is already on your mind or for any worries on your heart.

God’s Word tells us not to be anxious about anything, and when we turn our worries into prayers, we are able to feel God’s peace.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

Surrender any worries on your heart to God, and any specific requests for the weekend ahead.

Since God calls us to observe the Sabbath and rest, pray for rest and for God to refresh you this weekend.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

Pray and ask God to reveal anyone in your life that needs prayer.

Pray that God will protect them from the Enemy, and give them the strength to be strong against any temptation they may be facing. And pray against any loneliness, and that they will feel God’s love surrounding them.

“No weapon formed against you will succeed.” – Isaiah 54:17 CSB

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” – Ephesians 6:10-11 ESV

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39 ESV

As you pray over your loved ones, pray for any family and friends who do not know Jesus yet. Pray for their salvation, and that God would soften their hearts to give their lives to Jesus.

“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:13 ESV

As you linger in God’s presence in prayer, remember that no prayer request is too big or too small for God to care about. Pray for any request on your heart, and trust that God hears your prayers.
