Are you looking for some uplifting Wednesday prayers?
Prayer is such an important part of our walk with God because it allows us to communicate directly with Him. I always tell people that prayer is the direct form of communication between us and God. It is such a wonderful way for us to build upon our relationship with God and to strengthen our faith in Him, too.
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18,
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”.
Prayer isn’t something that you do now and again, it is a daily, ongoing commitment. Similar to us always staying in close contact with our family on the daily by talking to them every day, we are to stay in contact with God each day.
God tells us to pray without ceasing and to give thanks in all things. Therefore we are to never take prayer for granted and to make sure that we are truly staying in prayer with God each day.

Wednesday Blessings and Prayers
Wednesday might just be another day of the week for you, but for me, I see it as being halfway through that workweek.
I believe it is an important time to reflect upon what you have been doing in the week and to make sure that we keep our focus on Jesus in all that we do.
Don’t let Wednesday be just another day that goes by, let it be another day that you give everything to God in prayer and have complete faith and trust that He is hearing your prayers and answering them in His perfect timing.
When we pray, miracles do happen. There are true blessings that are bestowed upon us through prayer.
Sometimes our prayers take longer to be answered than others, but it is still encouraging to know that God does look after us and bless us with so much. There is so much to be thankful for.
Be sure to check our daily prayers library to find prayers to pray every day of the week!
What Should I Pray For on Wednesdays
In saying all of this, what should we pray for on Wednesdays? When we stop and think about all that we have going on in our lives, we should also reflect upon all of the things that God has blessed us with.
Allow this time to show your gratitude towards God in all that He has blessed you with. Also put into prayer things that are on your mind, or that you’re struggling with, or need answers to during the week.
For example, I struggle with anxiety daily, and I make sure that I take time each day to read my Bible, study His Word, memorize scripture to keep on my mind, and to write down in a journal all of the things that I am thankful for, and things that I need to work on.
All of these things that I am reflecting upon will be prayed about. Sometimes I can start off the week less strongly than I would hope, and so Wednesday is a good mid-point for me to truly take time out to pray to God and meditate on His Word, to help with my anxiety.
Wednesday Prayer Points
Use these Wednesday prayer points to help guide you during your prayer time today!
- First things first, make sure that you are spending time in The Word each day. Are there any scriptures in particular that you like to read, or memorize to keep on your mind? Which book are you currently reading? Do you like to take notes or highlight the Bible? Create some sort of daily routine that incorporates reading the Bible each day.
- Secondly, give yourself time each day to pray to God – whether it is in the morning, during the day and/or in the evening. If you want to, you can pray in your head, because God knows your thoughts, even the thoughts of your thoughts! As long as there’s ongoing communication with Him, staying in prayer, then you are on the right track
- Lastly, never feel too discouraged or ashamed to come to God in prayer. There will be days that are harder to get through then others, and we all tend to face trials and hardships in our walk with Christ…but God. “For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
Wednesday Morning Prayers and Blessings
Start each day strong by saying a prayer to God and reading your Bible. I am going to share some great prayers for you to read on a Wednesday to encourage you for the rest of your week! Let’s start by reading the following scripture, meditate on His Word, and say a prayer to start the day on the right foot.
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6).
This is a fantastic scripture to reflect on because God is telling us to not be anxious about anything and to give everything to Him in prayer. God wants us to hand over our struggles to Him so that He can guide us on the right path and give us the strength that we need to endure.
This scripture is a great way to start the day, especially on a Wednesday. Take some deep breaths and read the following prayer:
“Dear God, Thank you for letting me have another day on this beautiful earth, Lord. I pray that I have a great day today, that you keep me safe and guide me to do your will in my life. Please help me with any kind of anxiety, stress, or other struggles that I am facing.
I completely surrender it all to you and believe that you will give me the strength to endure all hardships this day, both physically and mentally/emotionally. I pray that you comfort me today and allow me to get through the rest of the week. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen”.
Wednesday Prayer Before Work
A Wednesday prayer before work is a great way to celebrate all the blessings you’ve received so far and to thank God for the blessings that will come later in the week!
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me”(Philippians 4:13).
Read this scripture before heading into work this Wednesday and then say the prayer below. No matter what kind of challenges you face today, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish. God gives us the strength that we need to endure all things.
“Dear God, I pray that you give me the strength to endure all things that I will be facing today, especially in the workplace. I pray that in all that I do, I do it for your glory, Lord.
I pray that I keep focusing on you, and not the storm. Thank you for allowing me to be able to financially support myself and my family, and to continue working here today. I pray that you protect me and look after me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen”
Wednesday Morning Prayer for Family and Friends
Prayer isn’t just something that you do for yourself, but it is also something that you do for your family and friends too. Whether or not they are Christian, you can still pray for them and allow God to handle the rest. Let’s say a prayer for our family and friends today, hoping that they have a wonderful Wednesday!
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
I love this scripture because it is such a wonderful reminder of what Jesus did for us. He died on the cross for our sins, for the sins of the whole world. He took away the punishment for our sins that we truly deserved.
There is no greater love than what Jesus did for all of us, and I hope that you keep this scripture in your mind, especially when praying for your family and friends (even those who aren’t saved).
Say this Wednesday morning prayer for family and friends to ask God to keep them healthy and safe throughout the rest of the week:
“Dear God, I pray that you look after my family and friends today. I pray that you help them with everything that is going on in their lives, and support them where they need it. I pray for their health and safety, Lord, and I pray that for all of my family and friends who are not saved, to be able to get to know you, and your son Jesus.
I pray for their salvation, Lord, and that they get to know Jesus the same way that I have gotten to know Him and all that He has done for me. Please send your archangels down to protect them, Lord, and keep them safe this day. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen”.
Wednesday Night Prayer
In order to end the day on a great note, you should say a prayer before you go to sleep. A powerful Wednesday night is the best way to make that happen!
Take some time to reflect upon everything that you did today, and be grateful for all that God has done for you today. You had another day on this earth and got to be with your family and friends – and to pray for them. You got to work on another day of fulfilling God’s Will in your life and hopefully chose to do things that would honor and please God.
“In peace, I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8).
On this peaceful Wednesday evening, let’s read this Psalm and pray to God that we have a wonderful sleep, and be thankful for the protection He has given us today.
Dear God, Thank you for allowing me to have another wonderful day here on Earth. Thank you for protecting me and looking after me today. I pray that I have great sleep tonight, knowing that I dwell in your safety.
Please continue to look after my family and friends also, and for all of us to continue having a safe and glorious week, doing everything in accordance with your Will and not our own. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen”.

God Bless Your Wednesday!
As you embark upon the middle of your week, I pray that the Wednesday prayers and blessings I have shared will invite you to continue praying and reading scripture every other day from here on out.
Staying in prayer with God keeps us focused on things above and not of this world. It keeps us focusing on Jesus rather than the storms we face in our lives. When we lose focus, we tend to feel more anxious, afraid, and unsure of things to come. That is why we need to give everything to God in prayer, and stay in prayer all the time.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).
Believe in what you are praying about each day. Once you give it all to God in prayer, stop worrying about it or focusing on it. You have given it to God to handle, and He will go from there.
Trust that He knows what is best for you and have faith in Him answering your prayers and doing what needs to be done to fulfill His Will and further His Kingdom here on Earth.
