Are you going through a tough time and need a prayer to let go and let God?
Is something troubling you? Are you finding yourself discouraged and downright depressed because of a situation you find yourself in?
A lot of times we can make ourselves physically ill by worrying about things that we truly have no control over.
The Bible promises that we don’t have to be anxious about anything. Can you believe that some of the happiest people also have lots of problems? But they trust that God is in control and don’t allow it to impact their outlook on things.
While the world tells us to worry, doubt, and fear what’s to come next, God tells us otherwise. Understanding and practicing this concept is fundamental to the Christian life!
It is time to realize that we don’t have control of our lives. God does!
It’s time to take a deep breath and let God take care of your issues.
Yet, it’s really hard to put it into practice so let’s dive into how to let the Holy Spirit take control.
What Does it Mean to Let Go and Let God?
To Let Go and Let God means to have faith that God has a plan and purpose, even when you might not fully understand it. This trust can provide a sense of supernatural peace in knowing that everything is in God’s hands.
By letting go of worries, anxieties, and the need to constantly attempt to control outcomes, we can experience a sense of relief. This doesn’t mean ignoring problems or challenges. Instead, it’s about acknowledging them and then releasing the need to obsessively worry about them.
Letting go and letting God releases us from the burden of life’s difficult times and instead, Jesus takes on the stress himself.
We simply have to ask him to take it on through the way of prayer.
How do we let go and let God take control of the wheel? It’s a simple Biblical concept, yet, so hard to do when the flesh wants to dwell on the past and mistakes we’ve made.
And, for those wondering why we go through struggles when we did nothing wrong, God has a plan to restore our lives for the better.
Letting go and giving it over to God makes us stronger, confident, and helpful to others when friends or connections are going through similar situations.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
God’s word builds our courage and wisdom so we can let go of any of the shame and guilt that tends to keep us from pursuing righteousness.
Prayer assists us with an intimacy with God like no other. Jesus found strength in the Garden of Gethsemane, we can also find the same attributes if we too, take it before the Lord.
