Prayer Warriors Needed Now!

Prayer is a powerful spiritual discipline that opens doors, changes situations, and helps us overcome temptations and evil. We need prayers in all areas of our lives for deliverance, encouragement, restoration, comfort, guidance, and protection.

God’s word tells us that there is a spiritual battle around us and Prayer Warriors Are Needed to rise and commit to praying for God’s will to prevail.

A prayer warrior will use prayer and faith to win spiritual wars. The invitation to be a prayer warrior is for new and mature Christians who are willing to heed the call and dedicate themselves to obeying the Lord.

Prayer warriors pray for themselves and the lives of others as well. They have an active prayer life which is their source of strength. This deepens their relationship with the Lord and helps them grow spiritually.

What is a Prayer Warrior

A prayer warrior is a Christian who is committed to praying for themselves and others around them. They are people who willingly step up and pray. As a child of God, you can be a prayer warrior too.

Prayer warriors know that with their own strength, they can’t change situations so they call on the power of God to change things. There is great power in praying in the holy name of Christ Jesus.

His name has been given power over every other name in heaven and on earth (Philippians 2:9-11).

Prayer warriors understand that we are in a spiritual battle and we have a real enemy who’s out to destroy us. This is what God’s word says:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:10-12 NIV

Some of the key characteristics of a prayer warrior are:

  • A humble spirit
  • Strongly rely on the power of the Holy Spirit
  • They are committed and willing to have an active prayer life
  • Intentionally pray for the needs of others
  • Believe in the power of prayer to change people and situations
  • Ready to engage in spiritual warfare

Why Are Prayer Warriors Needed?

We need powerful prayer warriors because we live in a lost and broken world because of sin and evil.

With our own strength and intelligence, we cannot thrive so we call upon the Almighty God through prayer to give us victory in spiritual battle.

To fight against the spiritual forces in the heavenly places we need the whole armor of God to stand and conquer.

The spiritual warfare we engage in requires us to put on all the pieces of armor God gives us including prayer.

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” Ephesians 6:14-18 ESV

Prayer warriors are also called intercessors. This is a ministry that Christ Jesus is already doing.

He lives to intercede for us and so we can also intercede for others because we follow his example. When you commit to becoming a prayer warrior you follow his example.

“But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever. Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” Hebrews 7:24-25 NLT

A prayer warrior understands the importance of prayer. This is a spiritual discipline we are called to practice as believers. The prayers made by prayer warriors like Hannah made way for miracles.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 NIV

Being a prayer warrior is important as it’s a way to obey God’s call to pray always. Prayer should be a lifestyle for us.

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV

Where Are Prayer Warriors Needed

We may think those who make changes and influence people are the ones with large social media followings or big stages to speak to thousands or millions of people.

But one of the best ways to change situations is to become a prayer warrior because they are invisible yet so impactful.

They take action to do the most significant work of changing situations in the spiritual realm that we see being manifested in the natural world.

They rely on the power of God more than their own power and wisdom. That’s why prayer warriors are needed in different areas of our lives.

Prayer Warriors Needed at Church

“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-14 ESV

The church is under attack. The enemy infiltrates the church because it has the power to change families, schools, workplaces, and nations.

That’s why Apostle Paul warned us that there are people who come into the church pretending to be Christians yet they are there to destroy the church from within.

So, we need powerful prayer warriors to pray for our church leaders, Sunday schools, worship teams, and all departments and ministries so they can be under the powerful protection of our Heavenly Father.

We also need to pray for unity in the church so we can be effective in the world.

Prayer Warriors Needed in Schools

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 ESV

The enemy is out to devour our children in schools. They are innocent and can be deceived by his schemes and plots.

While his attacks can be direct most of the time the devil’s influence is indirect through video games, social media, or friends.

That’s why powerful prayer warriors are needed to stand in the gap for our children and make sure they are not devoured by the enemy.

Prayer warriors pray in Jesus’ name because they rely on the power in his name to change situations and people.

 Prayer Warriors Needed for Families

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 NIV

The enemy hates happy homes. He comes to steal your affection for your spouse, destroy your family time, kill the joy in your home, and sometimes influence family members to stop going to church.

The enemy’s influence can be through social media, friends, and Netflix so that there’s no space or time for the family and even for the word of God in the home.

A strong prayer warrior is needed to protect families from the enemy’s influence so that families glorify the Lord and are impactful in their communities.

Prayer Warriors Needed in the Workplace

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 ESV

A powerful prayer warrior comes to the throne of God with boldness and confidence because they trust and believe in the power of Jesus Christ.

In the workplace, prayer warriors pray for teamwork, leaders, favorable company results, and for lost souls.

When people work in harmonious environments they don’t carry work stress home which results in loving and peaceful homes.

Prayer Warriors Needed for the City

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Jeremiah 29:7 NIV

Cities are going through crime, chaos, violence, broken homes, and addictions because of sin running rampant. It’s the will of God that we pray for our towns and cities.

When your neighborhood is in chaos, your family is in chaos and when there is peace and prosperity, the same happens in your family.

Prayer Warriors Needed for Unbelievers

“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 ESV

Our awesome God desires that all people be saved and come to repentance.

That’s why we need prayer warriors to intercede for those who are still lost to receive the gift of salvation that God has given us all.

Sharing the Gospel with the lost is something that Jesus Christ was passionate about and we should be as well.

There is joy in heaven when the lost are found and brought back into God’s kingdom (Luke 15:4–7).

Prayer Warriors Needed for Christians being Persecuted

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,  for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” Ephesians 6:19-20 NIV

There are many Christians who live in parts of the world where they can’t freely exercise their faith.

They are persecuted and some are even killed for believing in Jesus Christ. This is something that has been happening since Biblical times.

Jesus and the apostles were killed or persecuted for their faith.

That’s why Paul asks that we pray for strength, boldness, and encouragement for those being persecuted so that they remember God’s promises and reward for those who suffer for the Gospel.

Prayer Warriors Needed For Our Nation

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV

For us to live in peace we need to pray for our nations. Prayer warriors are needed to pray for our nation and those in authority that they would lead with love and have the people’s welfare at heart.

We need prayers for those in power to have the wisdom to make the right decisions and to allow us to worship the Lord freely as well.

They also need to make the right laws and legislation in line with God’s principles.

Prayer Warriors Needed for the World

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

We live in a violent and broken world filled with hatred, wars, crime, abuse, corruption, and more. Sometimes just watching the news can give you anxiety and cause you to become stressed.

That’s why we need prayer warriors to pray for the world and all the events happening.

We need to ask that God’s will be done on earth and that the peace of God reigns in our hearts as we trust him to act and change situations.

There is a spiritual battle happening around us and we need the full armor of God to be victorious.

One of the key pieces of armor is prayer. That’s why Prayer Warriors are Needed and the question is Will you Heed the Call?
