Our God can restore anything and anyone – no matter how damaged it might be.

Praying for Restoration in Our Lives
When your life or a relationship is in shambles, are you really ready to humble your heart and pray for a change?
When we pray for restoration in our lives, we are telling God that we are done trying to do things on our own and are humbly coming before Him with our burden and asking Him to take control of it.
Praying for restoration means that we are fully submitting to God and His will for our lives and asking Him to fix whatever we have broken (because we didn’t give it to Him in the first place).

Prayers for Restoration
There are many reasons to seek restoration with God. We may have drifted from Him and His ways, have a broken relationship with someone to mend, or we are seeking better health. He is ready in all circumstances.
How do we approach God in prayer? Do we remember who He is and give Him praise for all He has done for us? Do we have a thankful heart?
Are we repentant? This is one of the first steps in going to God for restoration. We need to confess any sin to clear the path.
Then we simply need to pray and ask God to restore us in whatever area we are lacking in!
Then we must continually strive to grow stronger in our faith every single day!
Prayer for Restoration of the Mind
It is easy these days to yearn for peace in our lives as our minds can become overwhelmed by the chaos in the world. The enemy is using politics and pandemics to wreak havoc on our minds.
But God is so much stronger than any of this! We have to go back to what we know about Jesus Christ. What has He promised?
Use this example prayer for the restoration of your mind to help get your mind off of the world and back on God and His many promises!

The Bible has an answer for us in Matthew 6:33.

When we are allowing the Lord to direct us in our financial decisions, money is automatically placed in its proper perspective.

Prayer of Restoration of Faith
Do you sometimes feel like your faith is dwindling? Maybe you are so caught up in the chaos of the world that you can’t seem to find God in it all?
Is God Reliable? We need to look at our life and see how God has helped us in the past. Is He true to His Word? He promised He would send His Son to die for us. Did He? That’s pretty big. If He followed through with that promise, wouldn’t it be repeated in other situations?
Use this sample prayer for the restoration of your faith to draw closer to God than ever before.
Father in Heaven, restore my faith and return me to the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
I have become so involved in life around me that I have lost touch with You and it has weakened my faith. Guide me back to Your loving arms so I can once again bask in Your light. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Prayer of Restoration of Backsliders
How can we pray for the backsliders (those who have turned or fallen away from God)?
In today’s political climate, it can be so easy to fall into sin and temptation and feel that God isn’t there for you. So many people today seem to be turning away from God. So how can we turn them back to their faith and back to God?
We can simply pray for the backsliders to open their eyes to see the truth. We can pray for God to restore their faith and to trust in Him again.
Our Most Gracious Father, Restore the faith of the backsliders. I pray for the restoration of those who have wandered far from You. Help them to turn back to you and trust in You again and to see that only in You will they find peace and happiness. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Prayer of Restoration of a Broken Relationship
Relationships are not always easy, very few are. Some are harder to manage than others, but the Lord is able to bring all kinds of personalities together. Even when it begins to deteriorate, He is able to mend our hearts.
First, we should go to the Lord and ask His guidance. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Next, Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:32,
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
This is the best way to have a broken relationship restored.
Holy Father, Thank you for answers to our problems in dealing with others. My friend and I have had a disagreement and we are not speaking. I confess my part of the argument and need Your strength to overcome my anger.
Please help me to be your witness in the way I handle the situation and to show love to my friend. I commit my way to Your ways so our relationship can be restored in You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Prayer for Restoration of Marriage
As we discussed previously, relationships can be hard. Sometimes marriage can be even harder. In God’s eyes marriage is sacred. “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Matthew 19:6
The same behavior that encourages a good relationship between friends is the same that helps in a marriage.
Treating each other with respect and love even when it’s tough will help a marriage to thrive. Both individuals need to work together to make it happen but putting God at the head can greatly increase success.
Paul instructs us in 2 Corinthians 13:11 NIV,
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.”
Father, We come in humbleness to you. Our marriage is in trouble. We both have drifted from You and listened to other voices. Bring us back to You so our thoughts can become clear to what Your will is.
Help us to put aside unimportant issues and focus on what is best. Create a desire for us to seek Your Word together. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Prayer for Restoration of Family
When family gets together it can be a great time. Then there are those times when nothing seems to go right. Everything said, is the wrong thing. Tempers flare, feelings are hurt and these situations can extend into long periods of time.
We definitely need to pray for family unity and restoration.
How do we handle this? We want our family to be restored. God tells us through Paul in
Colossians 3:13, “Bear with one another and forgive one another, if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
Gracious God and Father, How perfect are Your ways! We are in need of your guidance. Our family is falling apart and we don’t know how to get everyone back together.
We come to You because You have the answers that will unite us again. Help each of us to confess our sin and forgive others. Please restore our family in Your love. In Jesus Name, Amen
Prayer for Restoration and Healing
When our health is suffering, everything is affected. We want to feel good so we can go about our daily lives without hindrance. Chronic illness or pain can overwhelm us not only physically but emotionally.
Psalm 30:2 “Lord my God, I called to You for help and You healed me.”
Our hope is in the Lord and the first step is always prayer. Going to him for strength and peace can help in the healing process as we transfer the stress to Him.
My Father, Praise Your Name! I come to You in distress because I am not feeling well and having health issues. You are the Great Healer and I know everything lies within Your hands.
Please guide the doctor to make the correct diagnosis and be able to help me. Strengthen me as I go through this process to witness to those around me and show the love that You have for them. Thank You for Your love and grace. In Jesus Name, Amen
Prayer for Restoration of Health
Searching for relief from constant illness can take over our lives and can even become debilitating.
Going through the process of getting better sometimes takes a while and wears on our bodies and minds. We constantly pray for God’s healing power over us.
Isaiah 40:31,” But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
The answer here is where our hope is. The Lord will strengthen you to get through this process.
Father God, You are the True Healer and I need your healing power. Show me how to see Your hand in my life. Strengthen me physically and emotionally as I heal.
I am impatient but I know You will help me through this and I will come out better than ever before. Help me not to faint and to continue in Your love. In Jesus Name, Amen
Restoration in any form is about going to the Lord with our problems. Seeking these answers in God’s Word is the where we need to go. God wants us to think of Him first so we can move from the problem faster.
Remember what restoration is. Wanting to go back to what we previously believed and the warmth of God’s light and love. This is the place where we need to be.
