Prayers of praise to God are the best and most flattering way for us to praise Him for all He is.
When you give someone praise, it is a powerful way to let them know how much you love them.
To shower a spouse with praise could sound like this: “You are such a wonderful husband! I’m so blessed to be married to you. There is no one else in the world I’d rather be with than you.”
Or if you wanted to praise your child you might say, “You are so clever and kind, I love how you play with your little brother. You are the best big brother!”
If you think of your relationship with God in terms of relationship, it makes it easier to know how to communicate with Him. In the same way that you would praise a spouse, a child, or a close friend, you can praise God, too.
Of course, God is mightier, more perfect, more full of love than any single person we praise in this life which makes Him completely worthy of our praise!

Why Are Prayers Praising God Important?
There are tons of reasons why we should praise God and shower Him with gratitude and adoration. But two of these reasons really stick out:
God deserves our praise and adoration.
No one is more worhty of praise than the Father.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11 (ESV)
Our God is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is worthy of ALL praise. He is the Creator of all that we know and see. I’ll say it again: He is worthy.
How do you feel when someone praises you? When they say something nice about you or lift you up? Many of us long for our spouses, friends, or children to notice our work for them and praise us for our efforts.
If we take note of our own desire for praise, it’s easy to see why we should praise God!
Showering God with adoration is good for us.
When we praise God, it takes our eyes off of our own selves and places them where they should be: on God.
In my sinful nature, I’m tempted to only praise God when I feel like it – when things are going well or when something exciting happens.
But God is worthy of adoration ALL of the time. He doesn’t stop being the Lord of lords and King of kings just because I’m having a bad day!
In fact, it’s on those days that praising God is extra helpful for me – because it reminds me of God’s power, His great love for me, His sovereignty and so much more.
When shower God with prayers of praise and adoration, the things I’m praising Him for are precious reminders to me of His character and nature.

God is worthy of our praises simply for who He is! He is the creator of all the good things in our life and here on earth. Nothing from the highest heavens, nor here on earth comes close to God’s greatness.

This verse shows us that everything God has made points us to the Creator. Today, look around at the incredible things God has made and meditate on what those things reflect about God.
Lord God Almighty, I bow before You in humble reverence and praise. You are the masterful architect of the universe, the divine artist who painted the cosmos into existence.
With awe and wonder, I lift my voice to adore You for the wondrous tapestry of creation that surrounds me. I praise You for the grandeur of the mountains, the vastness of the oceans, and the brilliance of the stars that adorn the night sky.
Your handiwork is displayed in every sunrise, every delicate flower, and every creature that roams the earth. Your creativity knows no bounds, and Your wisdom is beyond measure.

We praise you for the times when we couldn’t see the way forward, and yet your plans unfolded, revealing your grace and faithfulness. We thank you, Father God, for the times when we thought we knew best but learned that your plans were far better than our own.
Today, we surrender our desires and ambitions to your sovereign will, trusting that your plans are higher and greater than our own limited perspective. We acknowledge that your timing is perfect, and we rest in the knowledge that you are in control.
Lord, help us to walk in faith, knowing that your plans are for our welfare, to give us a future and a hope. Give us the strength to accept your plans with open hearts, even when they lead us through valleys and mountains.
Grant us the patience to wait upon your timing and the wisdom to discern your guidance.
